Week – 3 for me. In 3 weeks, I’ll finally be in vacations and hopefully, by now, I will be relaxing under the sun on a beach. If you want to spend the day at the beach, the key is to make sure that you don’t forget anything at your hotel room or apartment. You have to make sure you have absolutely everything with you. Nothing more annoying than to get really comfortable and then realise that you forgot you sunscreen in your room (that’s not entirely true, I can think of a few things that are more annoying than that but I wanted to add some dramatic effect… ). So to make sure that you don’t find yourself in this unfortunate situation, here are the things I always put in my beach bag.
In less than a month, I’ll be on vacation in Dinard. I went there last year and totally fell in love with that city so we decided that we’d go back this year. I might be counting the days till our trip. And I might already be packing in my head.
Like most people, I hate packing (although the absolute worst is unpacking but that’s an whole other story); packing is always a pain but there are some easy parts: there are three things that I systematically take with me. Continue reading “Three Things I Always Pack For Trips”
If you live in Belgium (and I think it’s the same in Europe), you know that lately it’s been freezing!!! You’ve experienced temperatures that make you want to stay in bed (granted, I personally don’t need low temperatures for that. But I’m sure there are some reasonable people out there – you know like adults – who feel that way). It is so cold that you’re even afraid to step foot outside. You’d rather stay at home, wrap yourself in warm blankets, and drink hot chocolate in front of a Gossip Girl or Pretty Little Liars marathon. And that, all day long… Isn’t it how you feel? Because it is how I feel (
probably too often). And I can’t believe it’s just me. It cannot be just me, right?
Anyway, even if we wish we could stay home, well it’s not really within the realm of possibility! We have to be a grown-up and take our responsibility (yuck!). We have to get out of bed. And get dressed. And brave the cold. But do we need to be cold and look like crap? Oh hell to the no! One may think that it’s kind of hard to stay stylish with temperatures below the 0°C, but one would be wrong. When it’s crazy cold like that, I like to bundle up in huge knitted sweaters. And it’s not such a bad thing fashion-wise. Oversized sweaters (and sweater dress) are fashionable, so you can totally look super stylish when rocking one of these and still brave the cold.
Are you surviving the crazy heat? I barely am. Seriously. When you are not at the beach, and when the temperature is above the 30°C, it is unbearable. So what I really want right now is to spend a few days on the Belgian coast. Luckily, I will in a couple of weeks (hopefully, it won’t rain by then :p) …
And since I know I’m going to Knokke for two days, I’m already packing in my head. I thought I would share it with you 😉
I hope you’re all doing great 🙂
In this post, I’ll write about one of my favorite pieces: la Marinière.
