What To Wear For Work When It’s Really Hot

Hey there,

For the past few weeks, it’s been super duper hot.  It’s been so hot that it has been barely bearable.  You know when the temperature is so high that you have absolutely zero energy?  There is no fresh air, even at night, so you don’t get any sleep?  And you wake up exhausted?  But you still have to get up and go to work?  That’s been my routine for a month.

Another tough part is: how to dress?  Because all you want to do is laying down by a pool or on the beach in a bikini.  But you can’t.  If you want to be able to do that, you gotta go to work (as Britney would say: You want to live fancy?  You better work bitch).  And unless you work as a lifeguard – which I’m not – you have to dress appropriately.  Now let’s see what we can do 🙂

1.  Skirts:

You can play with the colours, the prints and the length: pencil skirts, a-line skirts, midi skirts and mini skirts.  Pair your skirt with a button-down shirt and you’re good to go.  If we don’t wear our skirts when it’s 100 degrees out, I don’t know when we will.

How To Wear A Work Appropriate Outfit When It’s Freezing?

Hello there,

Winter is coming here.  Unfortunately, most of us can’t work from home; which means we have to get our asses off the bed, get dressed, and above all, we have to dress work appropriately.  This can be a huge undertaking when it’s 0°C outside and when it’s dark when you get out the door.  You know what I’m saying?

But just because it’s dark, and cold, and raining, and realllllyyyy difficult to be a responsible adult (ugh!), it doesn’t mean we have to go through all that unstylish.  Right? So here are some looks  that you can get some inspiration from for the next 2 months of winter – probably 3 if you’re Belgian 😉

Trench coat and pant suit

Nothing revolutionary, but boy it’s pretty!  And classy.  And empowering.  I don’t know why, but anytime I wear a trench (or a long) coat I feel way more confident.  Don’t get me started on  the pant suit…  And if you want to protect yourself from the cold, the coat will definitely do the trick.

The 10 Movies That Shaped My Style

The 10 Movies That Shaped My Style

Hey there,

Today was a typical autumn day: grey, dull, and rainy! And yes, I know it’s the 4th of September. What do we do on a rainy day? We watch movies! (Well I, personally, eat cookies or something and I watch movies). Today, I’m going to share with you the movies and TV shows that had a (significant) impact on my style. Let’s have a look!

Boho Chic or Hippie Chic?

Boho Chic or Hippie Chic?

Hello girls,

How are you doing? I hope you had a great week and that you’re having an even greater weekend 😉

Here in Belgium, we had a few fabulously sunny crisp days. I love those kinds of days, and it made me long for those spring and summer days (and oh oh those summer nights 😀). And I pictured myself sitting at a nice café with some friends, recovering from an epic day at Coachella, pulling off the boho chic style.

And then I thought, wait a minute. What’s boho chic? And what’s hippie chic? Is there actually a difference between these two trends? And if yes, what are they? And then I thought, I cannot be the only person who’s a little confused about this. (Not like I lost any sleep about it, but still… ). So, it’s only natural that I came up with this article: Boho (Chic) vs Hippie (Chic). What’s the deal, trends?

Let’s start with boho chic. Boho comes from bohemian. Bohemian is:

“a person who has informal and unconventional social habits, esp. an artist or writer (New Oxford American Dictionary); or a nonconformist writer or artist who lives an unconventional life (Wordnet).  A synonym would be gipsy.”

When you check various websites, such as Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, or InStyle, here are the key words that are used to describe the boho chic trends: late 60’s and 70’s, maxi dresses, crochet dresses, Yves Saint Laurent, Isabel Marant, tie dye, paisley, floral, suzani, printed maxi dress, gladiator sandals, floppy hat, a fringe cross-body bag, fur vest, beaded vest, flared jeans, a coin-embellished belt, denim cut-offs, feather earrings, boots, …

The pioneers were Thea Porter (check this, this, and that out) and Talitha Getty (the featured image was taken from CBS), followed by Sienna Miller and Kate Moss in the UK, and the Olsen twins in the US.

How To Style Your Flared Jeans?

   Hello girls!

How have you been?  As promised, in this post I’m going to tell you the different ways you can style the flared jeans.

I have a confession to make.  I am a huge (like huuuuuuuuuuuuge) fan of Charlie’s Angels (FYI, I was a Kelly Garrett :D).  I love everything about that show: the girls were smart, and strong; Bosley was funny; their friendship was awesome; … and of course, the fashion was on point 🙂  Why am I talking about this iconic TV show?  Well, simply because I guess it’s one of the reasons that flared jeans are (one of) my favorite piece(s) of all time!  So, as you can imagine, I’m thrilled and super excited about the 70’s revival that we have been experiencing since last season.
