We are currently experiencing a heat wave. Wait.. Can we still talk about heat wave when it’s been 3 weeks? I’m not sure. But what I know is that we are all struggling. Big time. My current state will explain my choices regarding the outfits I picked for this month, regarding the colour palette and the cuts.
July. Summer. Vacay…. Who doesn’t love July? It always flies by, especially if you spend a couple of weeks on a beach or sightseeing. As far as I’m concerned, I’ll be working but I don’t really mind, because I hope think that the tough times at work are done, people will be more relaxed and I’ve heard that we’ll get plenty of sun, so I’ll make the most of it. Can’t wait! (Actually, I can’t wait for August cause I booked some time off then, but I’m trying the Coué method…). Now let’s get some fashion inspiration.
One of the trends this season is denim. Again?! Yes, but this time it’s all about dark denim revival. The trend was proposed by various designers, including Tom Ford, Calvin Klein, Max Mara and Alexander McQueen.
I don’t know about you, but when I look at these looks I think about my (awkward) teenage years. June is usually the last “hellish” month at work, before the more “relaxed” (note the quotes here) months of July and August. But just because June will be tough work-wise, doesn’t mean we have to dress to match the mood. Au contraire. Let’s bring some colours. And fun prints. And statement pieces.
Well, don’t mind if I do 🙂 All I want to do in May is to ditch my all-black outfits and rock some fun pieces: bright or light colours, flower prints (I know, that is sonot groundbreaking), striped tees (you know how I love these),… It puts me in a good mood.
In these inspirations, you’ll find all of that and more worn by some of my favorite fashionistas: Alexandra Pereira, Jessica Alba, Miranda Kerr, Xenia VDW, and Julie Sariñana.
