I hope you’re having a great day! And if you are not, then maybe I have the solution for you. You know, in fall and winter, since it’s dark outside from 5 pm to 9 am, I spend a lot of time inside. And when I feel a little down, there are basically two options: (i) comfort food and (ii) comfort movie (is there such a term? If not, it should…). Since I can’t only eat comfort food, option 2 is always a good idea. I gathered here my go-to movies and TV shows when I need or want a little pick-me-up.
Today was a typical autumn day: grey, dull, and rainy! And yes, I know it’s the 4th of September. What do we do on a rainy day? We watch movies! (Well I, personally, eat cookies or something and I watch movies). Today, I’m going to share with you the movies and TV shows that had a (significant) impact on my style. Let’s have a look!
Oscar de la Renta makes the news today. Three days ago, he would have turned 84 years old. Five days ago, Peter Copping announced that he would leave the brand immediately. So I thought it would be nice to get to know the late designer a little better!
Oscar de la Renta was born July 22, 1932 in the Dominican Republic and died in Connecticut at the age of 82, after a long battle with cancer. When he was 18, he travelled to Madrid to study painting at the Academy of San Fernando. How did he get into fashion? When he was in Madrid, he was enlisted by Cristobal Balenciaga to sketch for him. Afterwards, he went to Paris and worked at Lanvin; and then he moved to New York in the early 60’s and set up his own label [1,2].
