Three Things I Always Pack For Trips

In less than a month, I’ll be on vacation in Dinard.  I went there last year and totally fell in love with that city so we decided that we’d go back this year.  I might be counting the days till our trip.  And I might already be packing in my head.

Like most people, I hate packing (although the absolute worst is unpacking but that’s an whole other story); packing is always a pain but there are some easy parts: there are three things that I systematically take with me.

1.  A sweater.  It doesn’t matter where or how long I’m going, I will always take a warmer sweater with me in case there’s a colder day during the trip.  Especially since I never plan on spending my days in my hotel room.  A Mais Qui Es-Tu sweater is always a good (and fun) idea.

2.  A pair of sneakers.  No matter the “type” of vacation I’m on, I always have a pair of sneakers with me.  There are basically two types of vacations in my book: (i) lazy (beach or similar), and (ii) active.  But even if I’m on a lazy type of vacations, I always try to get some active type in.  There are always some interesting places to visit, and when I’m on a touristy mission, the only acceptable pair of shoes to wear, as far as I’m concerned are sneakers.  My go-to brand?  Philippe Model.

3.  A book.  I love to read and one of the things I absolutely love is to lie on a lounger by the pool or the beach and read a book for hours.  You’re probably thinking “Oh but wait, then it’s only during her lazy vacations and not during her active type”…. You’re wrong my dear.  Even when I’m sightseeing, there’s always a book in my bag.  If I find a cool, lovely spot where I can sit for a while, then I will.  And I will with a book in my hands.  If I were to leave today, I would take the following book: Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty.

I never wonder whether or not I’ll pack these, I just do.  What are the things you never go  on trip without?  Let me know 🙂
