I thought that today I would try a different kind of articles and in doing so launch a new category: Travels.
“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page”
These past couple of years, I had the chance to do some very interesting travelling – and I found out that I love, absolutely love it. I travelled by myself, and I think that made it even more special. First of all, I got to choose what I was doing every single day and I didn’t have to consult any other people. Second of all, if I had a problem I had to take care of it by myself too and I learned a lot.
The first time I travelled – far away – by myself was to California, and more specifically to the San Francisco area. For most people, San Francisco is on their dream destination list. I must admit… I was not disappointed! I took one of those tour buses, very touristy but I didn’t care because I wanted to see as much as possible and I had only one day there so I had to make the most of it. And I did!
You see the city, and you see actual film sets: the Princess Diaries, the Five-Year Engagement, The Internship… Epic! You see famous places/monuments/brands: the Golden Gate Bridge, the AT&T park (you know I ❤ sports), Firefox (I’m a girly nerd who works in IT – oh yes, I’m that weird), Saks, the Painted Ladies, … :
The architecture was impressive, especially for a Belgian girl like me 😉
San Francisco is stunning and super interesting. If I ever have the chance to go back, I will not hesitate one single second, I’ll say “Count me in!” immediately.
Have you ever been there? Did you like it? What’s your best memory of it? Tell me 🙂
