This is the fourth installment of the series “My Favorites Look of…”. In this post, I will talk about the SS15 of a Belgian brand: Xandres.
«The earliest foundations of Xandres can be traced as far back as 1927, when a company called Andries & Co was founded in the Belgian town of Destelbergen. (…) The core of the brand has remained the same since: elegant women’s fashion with a timeless quality that remains in touch with current trends.»
Besides Xandres, the brand also offers « Hampton Bays », a label « inspired by the unique way of life of The Hamptons (New York, VS), marked by ‘pleasure and joy’. Hampton Bays is known for its mix of American preppiness with a touch of French joie de vivre and Belgian craftmanship. »
Similarly to the other posts, I will introduce you to my favorite looks of their new collection. Have a look at the Xandres collection:
Both pink trousers are super cute, and they look really comfortable. I find the t-shirt with the art on very original, and the jacket looks cool but still is work appropriate to me. I would say it is a nice alternative to the blazer. The sweater in the second look looks really nice for a more casual but still feminine vibe.
I’m a girly girl, so I love pink and I love sequins 🙂 So, no wonder that I am in love with that t-shirt!
Jeans + White top = flawless combination. You cannot go wrong with them. Sure, it’s not groundbreaking but hey, it’s a classic.
Here is another version of the jeans + white top, here the originality comes obviously from the jeans. Gold denim?! Hell yeah!
These last two looks are more sophisticated, and would be perfect for a business meeting. But, the nice thing is, I find that both trousers can also look more casual if you style them differently: a t-shirt, beige wedges for instance, and you’re good to go have a drink with your girlfriends!
Now, for the looks proposed by Hampton Bays:
Just as I said before, jeans + white top is always a winner. Actually I should have said: jeans + (insert any color you want) top is always a winner. And it’s even more of a winner when the top (or the sweater) is feminine, and the jeans have kind of a boyfriends-jeans vibe. I love the contrast.
Another type of contrasts I love is the shorts-sweater. Especially if the sweater is not form hugging, since the shorts usually are. The print in the first look is really cool, while the color and the knitted effect of the others are lovely.
Jumpsuit! Yet again, I know, but oh so nice. The print is great. To wear with wedges, and a tailored jacket.
Flowy, pleated skirt? Check! Bold color? Check! Feminine? Check! Fun? Check, check, and check! What’s not to love, seriously?
Last but not least, another trousers with a very interesting print, that look extremely comfortable. Love them.
After this post, I will probably write two others about the Spring/Summer 2015 collections of two other brands, including Mer du Nord (one of my all time favorites). After that, I will write about something else, I promise… unless you want me to “review” a specific collection. In that case, I’m looking forward to hearing your suggestions/requests 🙂
