Hey there, How are you? Having a good time this summer? As you know, I love reading. Always have, always will 😉 A few years back, I wasn’t a huge fan of non-fiction but for… More
We are currently experiencing a heat wave. Wait.. Can we still talk about heat wave when it’s been 3 weeks? I’m not sure. But what I know is that we are all struggling. Big time. My current state will explain my choices regarding the outfits I picked for this month, regarding the colour palette and the cuts.
Weeks 1 & 2: August 1 – 12
I live by that motto. A typical Sunday for me looks like this: I wake up late. I go to the gym (yes, I am that courageous). I have lunch. And in the afternoon: I. Do. Nothing.
When I was a kid, I used to hate Sundays because it meant that the next day I had to go to school. So basically, I enjoyed only half of my weekend which is kind of sad when you think of it. Now I have learned to
like love Sundays. I don’t know what or when it changed, maybe it’s when I started working. When you’re still studying, you can’t really spend your whole day doing nothing without feeling guilty (or was it only me?). Now, that problem has gone away… most of the time. I’m a proper bookworm. Hence, one of the things I love when I go on holidays is to lie on a lounger and read a book for hours in the sun. This makes me so happy, calm, content. And to make sure I have a good time, I have my go-to books.
Chick lit. I’m not gonna lie, this is probably my favorite genre when on the beach or poolside. I know it’s cheesy and very often quite cliché but I can’t help it, it’s one of my guilty pleasures. And I have 2 foolproof books, one of which I’ve been reading every year for the past 4 years I think. I don’t get tired of it and it still makes me laugh out loud. The other makes me dream of the Hamptons and makes me want to do yoga.
“The Single Girl’s To-Do List” (Lindsey Kelk)
I laugh out loud. Every. Single. Time. How does it start? Rachel broke up with her boyfriend and her best friends try to teach her how to be single by making a list of 10 things she has to do. As I said, it’s funny. It’s also heartwarming. And somehow, empowering sometimes.
July. Summer. Vacay…. Who doesn’t love July? It always flies by, especially if you spend a couple of weeks on a beach or sightseeing. As far as I’m concerned, I’ll be working but I don’t really mind, because I
hope think that the tough times at work are done, people will be more relaxed and I’ve heard that we’ll get plenty of sun, so I’ll make the most of it. Can’t wait! (Actually, I can’t wait for August cause I booked some time off then, but I’m trying the Coué method…). Now let’s get some fashion inspiration.
Week 1: July 1 – 8
Last week, the Tony Awards took place in New York and if I’m not doing a Best Dressed post, I know that my sister will be pretty mad at me (she is a huge fan of musicals and was quite happy with the Tony for best performance by an actor – she was rooting for the charming Andrew Garfield). So here we go!
